A sixth and final season
That’s it. After six seasons, the Cobra Kai series will know its outcome by the end of the year, as we learn in a teaser released by Netflix this weekend. The opportunity to discover the conclusion of the adventures of Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso, after the creation of this show in principle as surprising as it is effective. As a reminder, Cobra Kai is a series set in the same universe as the 1984 film Karate Kid.. If the feature film placed us on the side of Karate Kid, that is to say Daniel LaRusso, whose goal was to defeat Cobra Kai, aka Johnny Lawrence, the show does exactly the opposite by putting us from the point of view of the one who was once the antagonist.
If at the start the series was broadcast on YouTube Red for two seasons, it was finally Netflix who bought the rights to the show to offer it four additional parts. What prolong the reunion between the two characters of this martial arts film of the 80s, thirty years after their first confrontation. Inevitably, the characters have grown up, even aged in the meantime, which is the whole point of the series, to discover their life as adults or parents. In any case, all this will find its conclusion at the end of the year, without we know for the moment a precise release date.
What’s new for Cobra Kai in the future?
If this sixth season marks the end of Cobra Kai, it does not mean that we should never talk about his characters so much again. In a letter to fans of the series, the creators thank fans for remembering and giving them the opportunity to give the chance to tell the story of these characters. On this occasion, the latter seem to have teased new content planned for the future, implying that the “MiyagiVerse has never been stronger”, that they hope “to have a chance to tell more Karate Kid stories one day “ because “Cobra Kai never dies”. What teaser spin-off ideas? Only the future will tell us !
