Mexico City.- The killer responsible for the death of Robert Maraj, father of Nicki Minaj, has been sentenced to a year in jail.
According to TMZ, Charles Polevich was found guilty of two crimes: leaving the scene of an incident and tampering with physical evidence.
In addition to losing his freedom, the culprit will have his license suspended for six months and will receive a fine of $5,000.
Nicki Minaj’s father passed away in February 2021 at the age of 64. According to police in Nassau County, New York, Robert Maraj was walking on the road between Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle.
Following the incident, it was claimed that Charles had fled the scene and tried to hide the car in a detached garage at his home.
However, he turned himself in days after detectives used security camera video to follow the car involved in the crash, a 1992 Volvo station wagon, to Polevich’s home in Mineola, Fitzpatrick said.
