Nintendo announced the launch of the Nintendo Switch OLED in Brazil this Monday morning (19). The revelation was made through the company’s official profile in Brazil, where it is said that the OLED screen version of the Nintendo Switch will be released on September 26, 2022.
The OLED version of the Nintendo Switch has the same Nvidia Tegra X1 (custom) processor as the “normal” Nintendo Switch. However, although its screen has the same resolution, it is larger (7 inches versus 6.2″), which consequently causes an increase in weight (420g versus 398g, considering the Joy-Cons connected). launch!
Nintendo announces OLED Switch in Brazil
Just like the regular Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch OLED has 4GB of RAM and is capable of playing 1080p images at 60 FPS when connected to a TV. However, as the OLED version’s screen is larger (7″ versus 6.2″), its dimensions are slightly different:
- Nintendo Switch Dimensions: 102 x 239 x 13.9 mm (with Joy-Cons attached)
- Nintendo Switch OLED Dimensions: 102 x 242 x 13.9 mm (with Joy-Cons attached)
Although the OLED Switch is a little longer and heavier, it’s hard to notice differences during use that detract from the experience. It is interesting to note that the support of this version is more robust, as it covers the entire back and it is possible to adjust it to different angles.
In terms of storage, while the regular Nintendo Switch version has 32GB of storage, the OLED version has 64GB. Both have a micro SD card slot, allowing for memory expansion. Considering the size of the games, it is practically mandatory to buy a micro SD.
Lastly, there is a slight difference in sound quality between the models, where the OLED Switch is slightly better. But in terms of connectivity, both have Bluetooth and a wired headphone jack (3.5mm or P2).
Launch and availability
The Nintendo Switch OLED console will be released in Brazil on September 26, 2022. However, its price has not yet been revealed.
