Nintendo Switch: a delightful game released only in Japan could finally land in Europe

Even if more and more niche Japanese games are entitled to marketing in the West, some titles remain blocked in the archipelago. But unlike what could have happened several decades ago, this blockage is no longer systematically irremediable. Proof of this is that a charming Switch game released only on Japanese consoles could finally receive a localization.

Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi was released on July 15 in Japan and only in Japan. And so far, nothing has been announced regarding a possible marketing in Europe. A clue from Spain, however, leads us to believe that all is not lost. Conversely, this index suggests that things are fairly well under way.

A show entirely devoted to Shin-Chan was recently broadcast in Spain. During the latter, the speakers were asked to answer the spectators’ questions. Among these speakers was Paco Gratacos, Shin-Chan’s distributor in Spain. And when asked if he knew anything about the arrival in Spain of the video game Shin-Chan, his answer did not really leave room for doubt (comments reported by the site DNA game) :

Yes, I know something about it. What is happening right now is top secret. But the outlook is good and I think there may be some very good news in a few months.

Obviously, the distributor is speaking here for Spain. However, it seems unlikely that the game will be offered on the Spanish Switches and not on those of other European countries. Moreover, it does not guarantee anything here. But his way of putting it indicates that the situation is well underway. However, players interested in Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi can continue to follow this matter.

A 100% Japanese experience soon on all Nintendo Switch?

That being said, it’s worth remembering that Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi was designed by Kaz Ayabe. The latter is behind My Summer Vacation, a famous (in Japan) series of games released on PSOne, PS2, PS3 and PSP. The concept of these titles was to reproduce the unfolding of the summer vacation in the countryside of Japanese children. Concept therefore very close to Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi.

Last February, the same Kaz Ayabe said on Twitter that he was going “do his best“to allow his game to be released in Europe. Some of the planets therefore seem to already be aligned. It remains to be seen the others will follow and if Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi will be released on the Switch in Europe.

For those who have not followed everything, this Switch game takes place in the world of Crayon Shin-chan, famous anime / manga. It is also this same Shin-chan that the players embody in this title. Here, the player accompanies the mischievous little boy on his summer vacation.

And in addition to following the plot of the game, the user takes part in various activities. Among the latter are gardening, card collecting, fishing and even insect hunting. The whole has a really charming graphic style referring to a nostalgic vision of Japan.

Do you believe in the release of this Japanese exclusive on the European Switch? And if the game arrives with us, do you plan to give it a chance? Give us your opinion in the comments below.
