Logging into your Nintendo services using your Twitter or Facebook account? Enjoy it, because it will soon not be possible at all. In a blog post published this week, Nintendo let us know that it will be blocking these connection methods starting October 25th. The firm, which asks the users concerned to forgive it for “the inconvenience caused“, nevertheless specifies that possible technical complications could lead to a delayed implementation of this measure, which will particularly concern Nintendo Switch players.

Once implemented, this change will prevent users from earning MyNintendo Points using Facebook and Twitter accounts. On the other hand, it will still be possible to do so, and to connect, using Apple or Google accounts, we read.

Are you concerned? Nintendo tells you how to…

Note that the removal of the connection mode via Facebook or Twitter will not necessarily imply an automatic disconnection of your Nintendo account if you are concerned. If this is the case, Nintendo explains that it will simply be necessary to connect with the e-mail address (or the login ID) and the password of your Nintendo account. As mentioned above, logging in using a Google or Apple account will also be offered if you encounter a login screen.

As of 10/25/2022, it will no longer be possible to log into a Nintendo Account with a Facebook or Twitter account. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
