NVIDIA reveals its new graphics cards! Learn all about the RTX 4090 and 4080!

No more leaks, the new series RTX 40 this one! NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang officially revealed three new graphics cards at the GTC 2022 event: RTX 4090, RTX 4080 16GB and RTX 4080 12GB. They are the first cards of the brand’s next generation of GPUs, codenamed “Ada Lovelace”. In addition to the new RTX 40 family, NVIDIA also announced the new RTX 6000 GPU dedicated to designers and creators.

They are supposedly better than their predecessors in everything – presenting double or even triple performance in some titles, like the new Portal with RTX, also revealed at the event. All use the PCIe Gen 4×16 bus interface.

RTX 4090

The brand’s new flagship has 16384 CUDA cores and a clock boost of up to 2520 MHz. This model will have 24GB from memory GDDR6X. But Nvidia’s top-of-the-line model remains extremely expensive, with the recommended price at $1,599. It will be released first, on the 12th of October.

RTX 4080

Here we have two different video cards, with two different chips, but they share the same name – for some reason. It’s the RTX 4080 16GB, with the AD103 chip and 9728 CUDA cores. With a total of 16 GB from memory GDDR6Xthis model will be released later, in November, by a recommended price of 1199 dollars.

The other RTX 4080 uses the AD104 chip and has 7680 CUDA cores. It has less memory too, 12GB GDDR6X. The recommended price is $899. Apparently, this card was supposed to be called RTX 4070. They are probably reserving the title “4070” for a release on a date when the global market is in a more favorable scenario.

“Consumption” remains a rumor. The rest of the information was confirmed today.
