Oscars: a French director, Euzhan Palcy, will receive an honorary prize

The filmmaker, known for her multi-award winning film Rue Cases Nègreswill receive an honorary Oscar on November 19.

“It is with tremendous honour, humility and gratitude that I am pleased to announce that the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (Oscars) has chosen me to receive an Honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards” , said the director on his Facebook page.

This year, actor Samuel L. Jackson, actress and director Liv Ullmann, writer and director Elaine May and comedian Danny Glover received an honorary Oscar.
