The government of São Paulo announced today (24) the relaxation of the use of masks in open areas in the state as of December 11th. The measure was guided by the Scientific Committee of the state based on data on the progress of vaccination and the epidemiological scenario. In closed places and on public transport, the use of a mask will remain mandatory.
A new decree with the changes will be edited and published in the Official Gazette of SP in the coming weeks, informed Governor João Doria.
The State of São Paulo has 74.5% of the population with a complete vaccination schedule.

“There are more than 34.4 million people over 12 years of age completely immunized, that is, with two doses of the immunizing agent from Butantan/CoronaVac, by Fiocruz/AstraZeneca/Oxford and Pfizer/BioNTech, in addition to a single dose from Janssen”, he said the government, in a note.
