The Panamericana Sur highway remains blocked to vehicle traffic because a group of protesters prevents its advance on the second day of protests against the government of the president of Peru, Dina Boluarte.
The protesters took the road from the early morning of Thursday, January 5, at kilometers 264 and 299, in the region Icaas detailed by the Superintendency of Land Transportation of People (Sutran).

With stones, sticks and tires, the demonstrators prevent the passage of vehicles on the highway that runs throughout the country and connects Lima with the southern regions, where the main protests demanding the resignation of Boluarte and the closure of Congress are presented. as well as the call for general elections and a Constituent Assembly.
In its latest report, Sutran reported more than 30 transit points affected by the demonstrations, which, it indicated, include seven national highways in five regions of the country.
