Pemex pipeline explodes in Tabasco

Mexico City- The explosion of an ethane gas pipeline in the Paredón battery, in Huimanguillo, Tabasco, caused the evacuation of workers from the oil field, state sources reported.

The gas line, operated by Section 26 of the oil union, runs from Cárdenas to Huimanguillo and according to the first versions, heavy machinery from a contractor hit the system, causing an explosion that raised flames up to six meters high. .

However, oil workers told REFORMA that this line had required maintenance for months and that its structure “was a time bomb.”

So far, the authorities have not reported any injuries from the explosion.

The emergency services of Pemex and nearby municipalities attend to the emergency.

Officially, Pemex has not disclosed the causes of the explosion.
