PIX on credit: How does it work?

In 2020, the Central Bank revolutionized the way people make payments and transfers. This is said because, in November of that same year, Pix, the instant payment system, was launched. Through it, it is possible to make a money transfer that arrives at the destination in up to 10 seconds.

Based on the success of the payment method, the Central Bank began to invest in tools that could further expand the use of Pix. For example, with the creation of Pix Saque and Pix Troco. At the same time, companies such as Nubank, perceived an opportunity in Pix, and also began to invest in the system. And with that, Nubank started to release Pix no Crédito.

From this option, you can use your credit card limit to pay with Pix. That is, you do not need to make the payment in cash, or have money in the account. A good option for when you’re tight and need to make a payment, isn’t it? Below, check out all the details of Pix on Credit.

From this function, you can use your credit card limit in payments via Pix, whether for individuals or legal entities (companies). That way, the recipient receives the full amount instantly. In the meantime, you will pay as you can.

In addition, Nubank allows you to pay in a single installment, or up to 12 times on your card. So, with Pix no Credit, you have one more option to control your money. Even, when performing the Pix on credit, you can simulate the installments, and check the fees that will be charged before confirming the transaction.

Pix vs Pix on Credit

For the recipient, it doesn’t change whether you’re going to use traditional Pix or Pix on Credit. In short, they will get paid right away, and they won’t know which option you are using. Who will feel the difference is you.

In traditional Pix, the value is immediately discounted in your bank account. Meanwhile, at Pix no Crédito, the amount is charged to your credit card statement. That way, you have more time to pay, and you can organize yourself better.

Is it worth using Pix on Nubank Credit?

In short, the feature is interesting when you need to make a Pix but don’t have any money in your bank account. Take as an example the following case: you need urgent money to be able to repair your washing machine. Or even, when you need to make the payment in cash, and you don’t have the amount.

Also, it can be interesting if you have all your bills up to date, but you need to have an extra amount to make a payment. In this case, one way to not clutter your budget is to do a Pix on Credit.

The option can also be interesting, in cases where the person concentrates all their spending on the credit card. In this scenario, Pix no Crédito is a good way to centralize your expenses in one place, and thus keep your organization.

Finally, Pix on credit can be an interesting option when the store gives a discount to those who pay via Pix in cash. However, in these cases, it is necessary to evaluate what is more worth it, if you need to split the amount on Pix. In other words, check what is more affordable: payment in installments at Pix, or at the store.
