Exactly five years ago, the Virtual Reality (VR) helmet from PlayStation. The truth is that there is not much to celebrate, but on the brand’s official blog a new post was made with news of what is coming for PS VR users, apart from statements from some of the VR experience creators who shared his experience with the platform and some of the titles to come.
To thank the fans for their constant support over the years, PlayStation is giving away three titles of PS VR to the members of Playstation plus since November. It is unknown what those games will be and how they will be incorporated into the subscription service, but it is anticipated that there will be more details in the coming weeks, probably when the free options are announced next month.
As the blog says, today there are more than 500 video games compatible with PS VR, although the vast majority are titles like Hitman 3 O Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which were not created specifically for the platform. Among the games that benefit the most from the Virtual Reality helmet of Sony, the most played worldwide were Rec Room, free social title, Beat Saber, the most popular rhythmic VR game of all platforms, PlayStation VR Worlds, composed of various experiences that squeeze the capabilities of PS VR, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard.
It is important to note that, although the blog post says that “it is incredible to see how virtual reality has really established itself in the last five years as a platform for gaming,” non-virtual reality does not seem to accompany that feeling. The great workhorse that appeared to be Marvel’s Iron Man VR last year it left the platform without exclusive drinkable options. Currently, fans are waiting for Moss: Book II and other titles like After the Fall O Puzzling Places, but the limits of PS VR have already been reached a long time ago and the successor that arrives in 2022 is going to have to make a huge leap in quality to catch up with other platforms such as Oculus Quest 2 and Valve Index.
