PlayStation VR2 trailer shows off Horizon Call of the Mountain and more

The present day, PlayStation has released a new promotional trailer for PlayStation VR 2 where he lets us see more about the specifications of the device, as well as images of exclusive video games such as Horizon Call of the Mountain Y Resident Evil VillageSo, these first glimpses are basically just a bunch of images of various confirmed PS VR2 titles that are in line with the commercials that PlayStation released before the PlayStation 5 launch.

Namely, this promo video is more focused on letting us see what gaming will look like on the 4K HDR display of the upcoming headset, letting us see more about the eye-tracking technology that follows the player’s vision, foveated rendering, field of 110 degree vision and more so this highlights that it’s not an actual game but mostly looks like it was lifted from the actual PS VR2 titles that will be released for the new hardware.

Now, while the new PlayStation VR2 trailer is great, it comes with some bad news from the company about the device: “PS VR games are not compatible with PS VR2, because PS VR2 is designed to deliver a true next-generation virtual reality experience”said Hideaki NishinoVice President of Platform Experience, as part of a recent appearance on the Official PlayStation Podcast.

“PS VR2 has much more advanced features, like brand new controllers with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, like I said, and inside-out tracking, eye tracking, 3D audio joins […] This means, game development for PS VR2 requires a completely different approach than the original PS VR. These features allow developers to create worlds that feel more vivid and alive and bring players closer to the gaming experience than ever before.”

So far, it is still unclear when the PlayStation VR2 controller and PlayStation VR2 Sense will be released, as PlayStation has given the release window of “early 2023” so far no definite date but, as noted above, the device’s specs are now available online.
