The Water Festival 2022 starts today in Pokémon Go: The event will be activated at 10 a.m. German time. You can then let off steam at this year’s water festival until May 20th – and take part in the individual activities. Highlights include the debut of three new Pokémon in the smartphone hit: Scarfed Lapras, Araqua, and Aranestro. Tapu-Kime, the patron saint of Poni Island, will also appear in the raid battles for the first time. Even more: If you are lucky on your side, you will even encounter a Shiny Bithora – also a Debut in Pokemon Go.
This is what awaits you at the water festival
The global challenge running for the 2022 Water Festival in Pokémon Go should provide plenty of employment. Between May 11 (10 p.m.) and May 21 (10 a.m.), it is up to all players to catch as many Water-type Pokémon as possible. If all trainers catch 600 million water-type Pokémon together, a double catch bonus beckons as a reward. Today the fourth special research of the Alola season went live. During the Water Festival, you’ll also take part in a Timed Research revolving around catching Pokémon. As a reward for completing the research, you will receive 50 Mega Energy for Gyarados, 1,000 XP and 1,000 Stardust, and encounter a Lapras with a scarf and Araqua.
Wild Pokémon to the Water Festival
Also traverse the wilds to encounter pocket monsters like Tentacha, Flegmon, and Goldini. Individual shiny shapes are also on their way to the water festival. In the raids you will meet Wailmer, Parfi and Azumarill, among others. Mega Turtok is on the move in the mega raids. For example, Enton, Azurill, and Mantirps will hatch from the 7km Eggs. Event bonuses include double Egg Hatching Candy, more XL Hatching Egg Candy, and two-hour Rain Lure Modules. Head over to the shop to pick up the Water Festival Scarf. The item is also available after the event ends.
