Police: A59 in Duisburg partially blocked after a rear-end collision

Duisburg.
A rear-end collision led to a traffic jam on the A59 between Dinslaken and Duisburg on Wednesday morning. One lane was temporarily closed.

The A59 motorway between the Duisburg-Walsum junction and the Duisburg-Nord junction was temporarily only passable in one lane on Wednesday morning. The reason was a rear-end collision.

Three vehicles had collided at the Alt-Hamborn junction in the direction of Düsseldorf, the highway police reported in the morning when asked. The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. The police could not say whether there were injuries in the morning.

A lane of the A59 in the direction of Duisburg was closed for about an hour, the police reported. Traffic was moving again around 9:45 a.m. According to WDR, traffic in front of the accident site was backed up by up to four kilometers. This would have resulted in a delay of around half an hour on the route.
