Police officer shoots gun by mistake and kills his partner

Michoacán.- An element of the so-called Civil Guard accidentally fired his charge weapon and killed his partner.

As it turned out, this event occurred moments before going out on patrol. Both officers were inside a patrol car. While she was taking the weapon from her, one of the civil guards activated it – by accident – and the bullet hit her partner’s back. The 38-year-old element died at the scene despite the fact that his colleagues tried to save his life.

An element of the Civil Guard died this Wednesday, November 23, after being shot in the back, after the weapon was accidentally fired at one of his companions while they were on patrol.

The alleged accident occurred within the Civil Guard barracks of that municipality located in the eastern region of the entity.

Reports indicate that before going on tours, both officers were inside a patrol car.

While he was taking his weapon from office, one of the civil guards activated it – by accident – and the bullet hit his partner’s back.

The 38-year-old element died at the scene despite the fact that his companions tried to save his life.

The Michoacán Secretary of Public Security reported that the element involved was presented to the State Attorney General’s Office, in charge of the investigations.

This institution announces that it collaborates closely in the FGE’s investigations into what happened, in order to clarify the death of the element.

“In addition, this agency emphasizes that it reserves the right to give more details on the subject so as not to hinder the investigations,” the SSP said in a statement.

The SSP said that it will be pending the case and if there is any responsibility against the civil guard allegedly related to the fact, it will proceed in accordance with the law and with the legal implications that may arise.
