A positive corona test prevented rock ‘n’ roll star Peter Kraus from making a live television appearance.

Dusseldorf – He was supposed to be sitting at the breakfast table in the studio of the ZDF program “Volle Kanne” on Thursday morning, but the test started shortly before that, as the 83-year-old singer (“Sugar Baby”) said in a switch from outside the studio. With a disappointed expression, he sat in the fresh air in the countryside at Düsseldorf’s Medienhafen and said: “What should I do?! A shock!” He feels nothing, is symptom-free.

Almost fell over with the chair

A PCR test should now bring certainty, explained “Volle Kanne” presenter Nadine Krüger. This Friday, a planned appearance on the “NDR Talk Show” was canceled, Kraus continued. At the TV switch he was so jittery that he almost fell over with his chair in front of the camera. He was just able to hold on to a flower pot and said: “Everything’s okay.” As a breakfast guest in the studio, music producer Dieter Falk stepped in at short notice.

Kraus’ new album, in which the German-Austrian sings jazz and swing, will be released this Friday. For the record “Idole” he has selected songs by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Sammy Davis Jr., among others – all artists who influenced him in his childhood and youth. Kraus recorded the songs with co-stars such as Helge Schneider, Till Brönner, Annett Louisan and Götz Alsmann. dpa
