Programming course offers 130 scholarships aimed at black people

A partnership between Digital House, Mercado Livre and Globant is offering 130 scholarships in a course aimed at black people over 16 who are interested in learning and specializing in digital programming.

The program, called Black Power Dev, will distribute scholarships for the traditional Certified Tech Developer course. Registration opened yesterday, Monday (20), and can be done this page. Classes start on the 1st of August.


According to the program’s organization, the 130 grants granted guarantee 95% of the value of the first stage of the course, exclusively for black people with complete high school and who are resident in Brazil.

Candidates must complete the selection phases and pay the 5% payment of the first stage of the course to secure the spot until July 27, or while there are spots available in the Black Power Dev program.

Classes are held remotely, 100% live and online, from Monday to Friday, from 7pm to 11pm, totaling 25 hours per week. The first stage lasts one year and nine months and the second, of specialization, lasts another year.

At the end of the first stage, the student is ready to work in the area as a junior analyst. The Certified Tech Developer was launched in 2020 and offers technical knowledge and the soft skills needed to work in technology companies in the programming area.

Also according to those responsible, students will learn about digital fundamentals, front-end, back-end, infrastructure, database, in addition to learning agility, collaboration and teamwork, time management, effective communication and professional attitude.

“The course was developed for the student to acquire all the technical knowledge necessary for their insertion in the technological industry market”, said the CEO of Digital House Brasil, Sebastian Mackinlay.
