Protests over the Ayotzinapa case leave 39 officers injured in CDMX

Today afternoon, Friday, September 23, a protest was held outside the Military Camp Number 1, in the limits of Mexico City and the State of Mexico. There, various people demonstrated, calling for justice for the murder of the 43 students.

With pints, posters and others, young people arrived at the venue and shouted “assassins”, “we are missing 43” or “it was the Army”; however, family members of the young people deprived of their liberty also participated.

Hours after the protest, the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City asserted that there were up to 39 capital policemensoldiers and members of the National Guard, who were injured.

The agency said in a statement that after the meeting ended, a group of protesters threw Molotov cocktails.

There were three elements of the police who required to be transferred to a hospital to receive a medical evaluation, however, they asserted that “The security forces did not respond to any aggression”.
