Real has a new Pepe
Antonio Ruediger was officially introduced to Real Madrid yesterday, Monday. “The new Pepe is here”, writes the ‘as’. The 29-year-old managed to ingratiate himself with the madridistas in his inaugural speech when he played Real’s former defensive edge “great idol” designated. The ‘Marca’ entitled its edition with “a shield for Madrid”. The DFB national player signed with the royal team until 2026.
New wing for United
Since Erik ten Hags took over at Manchester United, the Red Devils have been associated with numerous Ajax professionals. This is also the case in today’s issue of the ‘Sun’. The tabloid is pleased that “at last” the first signing is on the way to Old Trafford. Winger Antony is said to come for the equivalent of around 47 million euros. The negotiations for the Brazilian are therefore in full swing. Also on the United shopping list, according to ‘Mirror’: Ajax duo Jurrien Timber and Lisandro Martínez.
Clear the way for Silva?
Despite the financial difficulties, FC Barcelona wants to strengthen prominently. One of the targets: Bernardo Silva from Manchester City. And the midfielder doesn’t seem so out of reach for the Catalans anymore. “Pep Guardiola opens the door to Bernardo Silva”, is emblazoned on the front page of both ‘Sport’ and that of ‘Mundo Deportivo’. Guardiola said at a press conference yesterday when asked about his protégé: “Today I think Bernardo Silva will stay with us, but as I’ve always said since my time at Barça, I don’t want players who stay against their will.” So the last word in poker is far from being spoken.
