release date for "Crimes of the Future"the new film by David Cronenberg

Mubi announced the release dates for “Crimes of the Future”the new movie of David Cronenberg. The film will premiere at Leopoldo Lugones Hall of the San Martín Theater (Av. Corrientes 1530, CABA) from July 14 and will premiere on the platform on July 29.

Written and directed by Cronenbergthe film received its world premiere at the film festival Cannes 2022 in the Official Competition section. It was produced by robert lantos and starring Viggo Mortensen, Lea Seydoux and Kristen StewartWith Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Nadia Litz, Tanaya Beatty, and Lihi Kornowski.

What is it about? As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. Accompanied by his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), celebrated performance artist Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen) shows the metamorphosis of his organs. Meanwhile, a mysterious group tries to take advantage of Saul’s notoriety to reveal the next phase of human evolution.

It is the fourth collaboration between Lantos and Cronenberg after Crash, eXistenZ and Eastern Promises. Panos Papahadzis and Steve Solomos are the producers, with Laura Lanktree as a co-producer.
