River was a machine in Santa Fe: it thrashed Union 5 to 1

River Plate, with the resounding 5-1 against Unión, in Santa Fe, put an end today to a small adverse streak in terms of results for its first victory in the Professional League, in the match valid for the fourth date.

Braian Romero, Enzo Fernández, Julián Álvarez (twice) and Agustín Palavecino converted the goals for the team led by Marcelo Gallardo, while Mariano Peralta Bauer discounted for the Santa Fe team.

River, who came from two draws and one defeat, without having scored goals, reached 5 points in the championship and surpassed Unión, who stayed with 4.

Unlike previous games, River was practical. Every time he reached the Union area he did it with few touches and accompanied that strategy with greater efficiency.

Julián Álvarez’s high level was vital. The forward of the Argentine national team was accompanied by Romero in attack, he was associated with José Paradela and was indecipherable for the defense of Santa Fe.

The next Manchester City striker from England (he will travel after July 8) sealed his double after an exquisite assist with the backhand of Juan Fernando Quintero’s left foot. The Colombian returned after two months and did not go unnoticed.

The practical and forceful game restored tranquility to River. In the previous one, the match was more complicated, but he resolved it simply, thanks to a masterful Julián Álvarez. On the next date, River will receive Lanús and Unión will visit Boca.
