Rock, classical, gospel… 12 events of the 40th Fête de la Musique not to be missed in Paris

The Fête de la Musique celebrates its 40th anniversary this Tuesday, June 21! After two editions heckled by the Covid crisis, this great celebration of all musical styles is back with dozens of events, all over France. Here is a selection of concerts that will bring the capital to life.

  • 36h Festival of the Saint-Eustache Church

In the church of the first district of Paris, the concerts will be linked in a program which mixes classical and French variety.   • Reunion in the spotlight on the Place de la République

The artists of the island in the Indian Ocean will make the square in the center of the capital dance during a major concert organized by the Paris branch of the Réunion department, which will bring together various musical styles: séga, maloya or dancehall again.

  • Highsnobiety and electro rue des Francs-Bourgeois

The electro music scene will be out at 35-37 rue des Francs-Bourgeois (Saint-Paul metro station), in the 3e district, between 3 p.m. and 2 a.m. In particular, it will be possible to find DJs Joseph Dubrule, XURI & John Cleworth between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., then High Snobiety SoundSystem, Future Female Sounds, Lous and the Yakuza and Lil Silva between 5 p.m. and midnight. The second part of the evening will be provided by the artists Corbeille Dallas, Modgeist, Tamada B2B Elvira until two in the morning.

  • FIP celebrates music at the Arènes de Lutèce

The music radio will celebrate its Fête de la Musique at the Arènes de Lutèce (49 rue Monge, Cardinal-Lemoine metro) with several artists including Metronomy, Ibeyi, Laurent Bardainne and his quartet Tigre d’Eau Douce, Bertrand Belin and Emma-Jean Thackray.   • France-Inter at the Olympia

Radio and Olympia (28 boulevard des Capucines, Opéra metro) are organizing a big concert from 8 p.m. to midnight, presented by journalist Rebecca Manzoni, which will bring together the headliners Angèle, Pomme, Franz Ferdinand, Benjamin Biolay and Parcels . Also in the Maison de la Radio, Clément Rochefort will host an evening dedicated to swing from Studio 104 with Jackass Brass Band, Hot Sugar Band, Paris Jazz Sessions, Les Yeux d’la Tête and Pink Turtle. The public will even be able to dance on stage. The concert is free, upon reservation.

  • Film music at Espace Cardin

Espace Cardin (Concorde metro) invites the brass band of the Orchester de Chambre de Paris which will take over the arrangements of great films including “West Side Story”, “The Lion King”, “Aladdin”, at 2.30 p.m., 3.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. .

  • Gospel at Place de la Bastille

The Total Praise Mass Choir group, one of the largest gospel groups in France – up to 200 singers and musicians depending on the performance – will be present at Place de la Bastille for an exclusive concert.
