Rüdiger: After the career to Disneyland

Antonio Rüdiger wants to distance himself from football after his active career. Speaking to ‘Sport1’, Real Madrid’s 29-year-old centre-back explains: “I don’t know if I’ll play until I’m 40. When God says it’s over, it’s over, then I can go about my business and be myself again. However, after a hopefully long and successful football career, I tend to no longer see myself in the football business.”

Rüdiger moved to Madrid from Chelsea on a free transfer in the summer. His contract with Real runs until 2026. The German international is looking forward to the time after football: “I will be a child again and catch up on a lot of things I missed. I want to go to fairgrounds and have fun. I’ve never been to Disneyland because my parents couldn’t afford it before and I could never ask them about it. One day I will take them there with me – with my children.”
