Rumor: Two new Crash Bandicoot games are in development

Ever since the successful launch of Crash Bandicoot: Nsane Trilogy in 2017, Activision Blizzard has been giving the character the attention it deserves. This led to 2019’s Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, 2020’s Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and last year’s Crash Bandicoot: On the Run – and there seems to be more on the way.

According to a tweet from the now-deleted user known as TheReaIInsider, there are actually two games in development right now. This insider has been known to be right many times, but where involved in a scandal yesterday after it was revealed who he really was (a YouTuber who violated signed NDA agreements). Despite this, it’s worth considering that most of what he’s said in the past has proven to be correct, so we assume there’s a decent chance this will also turn out to be true.

A multiplayer-focused Crash Bandicoot game has previously been rumored, and we’re assuming the second game is a new platform adventure or possibly a kart racer. As Microsoft is currently working on buying up Activision Blizzard, it is quite likely that the two titles will be released for PC and Xbox, although we know from titles like Minecraft Dungeons and Deathloop that it could turn out to be both multi-format or even exclusive for other formats if an agreement is signed before Microsoft has bought up the giant publisher.
