Sales in supermarkets recovered in April: they grew by 3.1% year-on-year

Sales in supermarkets grew by 3.1% 24,140.5 million pesos in April, compared to the same month a year earlier, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) reported on Wednesday.

At current prices for April surveyed in the Supermarket Survey, they added up to a total of $177,148.1 million, which represents an increase of 65.8% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, total sales at current prices in shopping reached a total of $46,058.2 million in April, which represents an increase of 230.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Total sales at constant prices for December 2016 reached a total of 5,915.6 million pesos in April 2022, which represents an increase of 100.2% compared to the same month of the previous year.
