This Thursday (25), Samsung Pay, Samsung’s mobile payment service, announced an unprecedented partnership with Santander, expanding the range of options that users find in the application. The two giants have joined forces to make consumers’ lives easier by making it possible to access Banco Santander services directly through Samsung Pay, in the bank’s logo on the home tab.
Users will be able to request an account opening with a Santander debit or credit card and a personal loan to Sim, Grupo Santander’s loan fintech. The bank intends to make life easier for customers with this partnership, allowing frequent Samsung Pay users to have a simple and practical experience within the application that is used daily to make on-the-fly payments.

According to Eduardo Santos, Services and Innovations director for the mobile devices area at Samsung Brasil, the partnership with Santander expands the benefits to Samsung customers and proves the brand’s commitment to its consumers of constant innovation, generating even more value for your users by adding more options to the app.
Rogerio Panca, Director of Cards at Santander, says that with the news, Santander becomes the first bank to allow the opening of a checking account outside its own digital channels. Samsung Pay will allow the bank to talk directly to potential customers and offer the most appropriate solutions according to each profile.
The executive explains that the process of opening a checking account, requesting a debit or credit card from Santander and taking out loans via a SIM was created by the Santander Technology, Cards and Digital Business team in partnership with Samsung to be simple. Another great differential and service facility is that, once the card is approved, it can already be used for purchases through the Samsung Pay application even before the physical card arrives.
“Within Samsung Pay, the customer opens a checking account with us, accepts the terms and conditions and creates a password for his card very conveniently. The credit card can now be automatically added to Samsung Pay, as long as it is accepted with just one click, eliminating any other process outside the app”
Samsung Pay was launched in 2016 in Brazil and can be downloaded directly from the Galaxy Store or Play Store, being compatible with most payment terminals, allowing users to pay with compatible cell phones anywhere that accepts NFC payments ). Samsung Pay announced in August a very useful feature: proof of vaccination against Covid-19 can be registered in the app itself.
