São Paulo starts vaccinating teenagers in schools this Thursday

Starting this Thursday (25), teams from the Municipal Health Department (SMS) will go to municipal and state schools to apply the second dose of the vaccine against covid-19 in adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old.

Parents and guardians must sign a document authorizing the immunization. The authorization model will be taken by the Basic Health Units (UBSs) to schools. The strategy is to carry out the vaccination on the days defined with the school unit, so that parents can organize themselves and send authorization. The objective is to vaccinate as soon as possible the eligible public at this stage of the campaign, especially those missing the second dose of the vaccine against covid-19.

In adolescents from 12 to 17 years old, 893,268 first doses were applied until this Tuesday (23), representing a vaccination coverage of 105.8%. 338,553 second doses were also administered to this public, representing 40.1% of adolescents vaccinated with the second dose.
