Schreuder takes over Ajax

Alfred Schreud assisted head coach Erik ten Hag at Ajax Amsterdam for a year and a half. From the coming season, the Dutchman will follow in the footsteps of his former boss and return to the canal city.

As Ajax officially confirms, Schreuder is moving from Club Brugge to Amsterdam. In the Dutch metropolis, the trainer receives a two-year contract. According to reports, the working paper includes the option of another season.

“Becoming head coach at Ajax is an honor for me and a great opportunity that I’m going to grab with both hands”Schreuder rejoices, “I’m also very happy to come back because in the year and a half that I worked at Ajax I had a great time.”

Managing Director Edwin van der Sar says: “Alfred is known to us as a tactically strong coach with a good and varied game. In recent years he has gained experience as head and assistant coach at top clubs in various countries and competitions.”

Schreuder only took over in Bruges at the beginning of this year, but can leave the club thanks to an exit clause. The fee is estimated at 1.5 million euros.
