There are less than fifteen days left for a new election day. More of six million citizens will go to the amphoras this December 4 to elect their authorities, according to the National Elections Jury (JNE)
They are a total of 6 million 892,979 people that are qualified to date to compete in the second regional election with the aim of electing their new candidates for a four year period.
According to the information provided by the autonomous constitutional body of the Peruvian State, whose purpose is to monitor the legality of the exercise of suffrage, electoral processes and popular consultations, guaranteeing respect for the will, are 3 million 468,588 (50.32%) women who can cast their vote.

Regarding the male sex, they indicated that they are 3 million 424,391 (49.68%)according to the detail registered in the electoral roll systematized by the Electoral Process Operations Center (COPE) of the electoral body.
Of the total number indicated by the National Elections Jury (JNE) there are 1,941,159 voters of young people under 30 years of age and 600,277 over 70 years of age.
On the other hand, according to the JNE register, the regions with the highest number of voters for this second electoral day are Piura and Cajamarcawith one million 432,221 and one million 131,382 voters, respectively.
Subsequently, the region of Cusco (one million 52,153), Lambayeque (992,096), Callao (830,749) and Lima Provinces (772,477).
In the case of Amazonas, Pasco and Moquegua register the fewest number of voters, with 319,338, 210,556 and 152,007 respectively for this December 4, 2022.

It is important to consider that the second regional election, as provided for in the Regional Elections Law (Law 27683), will be held in constituencies where no candidate formula reached the 30% of the valid votes.
This percentage obtained in the regional election process carried out on October 2, did not exceed what the Peruvian regulations indicate for a candidate can assume the authority of a Peruvian region.
Likewise, it is indicated in article 5 of the aforementioned norm that if the aforementioned percentage is not exceeded, a second choice within 30 calendar days following the proclamation of the official calculations.

This December 4 of this year will be held the regional electoral runoff in some Peruvian cities because no candidate achieved the minimum percentage of valid votes to be elected as authorities.
