Sedena reports 37 soldiers killed in this administration

In the last four years, organized crime has murdered 37 soldiers of different ranks, when they were doing security work; The last of them was General José Silvestre Urzúa Padilla, in charge of coordinating the National Guard (GN) in Zacatecas, who was killed this Thursday.

A report from the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) reveals that the state of Tamaulipas is the most dangerous for the military forces, since in this administration 14 elements were killed in the framework of the campaign against drug trafficking.

Consecutively, Michoacán is located, where seven soldiers died in armed confrontations with organized crime; then Guerrero and Sonora, with four fallen elements in each entity.

Also in Zacatecas, two fallen military elements were reported; while Chihuahua, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa and Tabasco report one dead element.

Of the total number of deaths, the document indicates, 36 belonged to the Army and one to the Air Force. Likewise, 17 had the rank of soldier, 14 of corporals, one of second sergeant, two of lieutenant, one of first captain, one of lieutenant colonel, another of colonel and the last general.

The military report updated to November also details that in the last four years 246 elements have been wounded in combat.

During the first year of the current federal administration, 84 injuries were registered; for 2020 there were 56; As regards 2021, 75 were injured, and as regards this 2022 there are 31.
