Viewers have not finished following the delusions of romantic psychopath Joe Goldberg, played by Penn Badgley: Netflix has just announced a future season 4. The third will be available tomorrow.
While the third season of You will go online this Friday, October 15, Netflix has just announced that the series will be entitled to a fourth season. Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, creators and executive producers of the project, will always be there. The casting will be announced soon.
Based on the best-selling novel by Caroline Kepnes, the soap opera follows the delusions of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley, seen in Gossip Girl), a psychopathic bookseller with an artichoke heart who does not shy away from any crime to curry favor with his prey.
“While reading Caroline’s novel, Greg and I immediately became obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted view of the world,” Sera Gamble said in a statement relayed by Variety. “It has been awesome to see Penn play a scary yet fascinating Joe. We are deeply grateful to Netflix for supporting so much. You, and delighted that so many people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe do everything wrong for the past three seasons. “
“The whole team of You is excited to explore new dark sides of love in season 4, “she added.
A season 3 between marriage and baby (warning, spoilers)
After the tragic events of season 1, Joe had moved to Los Angeles under a new identity during season 2. There he fell in love with Love (Victoria Pedretti, seen in The Haunting of Hill House).
As the Season 3 trailer shows, the couple just got married, had a baby, and moved to a small town in Northern California, in order to lead a peaceful life. Or almost. Because Joe seems to fall in love with a neighbor, while fearing the murderous instincts of his wife. And the famous glass cage that they reserve for their victims is always available. Between life in the suburbs, marriage therapy and body to disappear, this new burst of episodes promises its share of surprises.
