I am very happy to have the opportunity to share some of my views on China’s future technological development at the International Science and Technology Innovation Expo. So today I would like to share with you the theme of “Discussion on China’s Future Innovation and Development Model”. These three points of technology, education, and talents finally constitute the main line of innovation and development.

Let’s talk about education first, especially higher education. China’s higher education is a veritable number one power in the world, and it is becoming a world power in higher education. By the end of 2020, the number of students in over 2,000 colleges and high schools in China has exceeded 40 million, which is the largest in the world in terms of quantity, and the quality is also steadily improving. For example, according to 2021 – whether it is the Times World University Rankings or the QS World University Rankings, China’s position in the world has been further improved. Among the top 100 world-class universities, China’s proportion has reached six or seven. Place. However, higher education also has certain problems, that is, it is highly popular and less sophisticated. The third point is to briefly talk about China’s talents. In 1978, the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee opened the curtain of reform and opening up and opened the door for Chinese students to study abroad. On December 26 of the same year, 52 scholars from mainland China set off for the United States. They were the first group of students to study abroad collectively after the reform and opening up. Their average age was over 42 years old. By the end of 2019, more than 6 million Chinese students have gone abroad to study abroad in the West and other countries in the world, and more than 4 million students have returned home after their studies, bringing huge influence and changes to all aspects of Chinese society.
