Three ski tourers had to be fetched from the Karhorn by police helicopter.

On Sunday, three ski tour friends (22, 23 and 26 years old) from the Upper Bregenz Forest undertook a ski tour from Warth via the Warther Horn to brushegg. From there they climbed the south side of the Karhorn to the west ridge. They had to climb the last 30 meters of altitude. They wanted to ski down the so-called Gamslücke back to the Warth ski area.

However, since crossing the ridge seemed too dangerous to them and they did not have a rope with them for the retreat to Brushegg, they made an emergency call at around 1:45 p.m. The crew of the police helicopter rescued the uninjured mountaineers with the 30 meter rope and brought them safely down into the valley. It is still being checked whether the ski tourers will be billed for the costs of the rescue.

The alpine police strongly recommend that ski tours in the mountains be planned in detail, taking into account the local conditions in advance and taking the necessary alpine equipment with you.
