Sofia Wistam responds to the criticism that Naked Attraction has received.
Discovery plus has brought the controversial program Naked Attraction to Sweden. It premiered earlier this week and has since stirred up mixed feelings among viewers. The program is about finding love. Singles should, based on the naked bodies of five participants, choose one of them to go on a date on. And yes, they do appear scattered naked in the box.
The concept already exists in several other countries where it has been successful. But in Sweden it has not gone home with everyone.
Secret guidelines for participants in the criticized program
Pernilla Wahlgren has previously stated that she can not watch it and the comedian Nour El-Refai said in her podcast: “I mourn that television has dropped so damn low to get people to watch”.
Now the host, Sofia Wistam strikes back.
“Know that it provokes”
In an interview with Expressen she responds to the criticism that the program has received.
– I know that the program provokes, and have chosen not to read reviews. I am happy with my performance. The participants have been fantastic. This can simply blow over, she says in an interview with Expressen and continues:
– I feel that this is entertainment. A bit of a “guilty pleasure” program. Then it does not suit everyone. Some people are provoked by seeing naked bodies, and may not look at this. Change channel in that case! Then I know that the program is provocative, and have chosen not to read reviews. I am happy with my performance. The participants have been fantastic. This can simply blow over.
