After the explosion of users using TikTok’s video feed, several platforms were forced to use the same format, such as YouTube, Instagram, Snap and even Netflix. Now, Spotify is the new company to join the vertical video feed wheel. It has been confirmed by the company that a new feature called “Discover” is currently being tested, where a feed of video clips is presented in vertical format.
Spotify should get similar feed to TikTok
The discovery of the new functionality came through Chris Messina, who tweeted a video demonstrating Spotify’s new feature, Discover. According to him, it appears to be a “reduced version” of the TikTok-style music video feed.
Not only that, @Spotify Discover is basically a pared down version of a TikTok-style feed of vertical music videos (likely using their canvas format) that you can like or skip.#NewSpotify pic.twitter.com/hpOEZ8v9bl

The news was found through TestFligh, a beta version of Spotify for iOS. After implementing the new functionality, a new icon appeared in the application’s options bar. By accessing the “Discover” section, the user can swipe up or down to view the videos in the feed, as well as enjoy the presentations they like best.
Launch and availability
TechCrunch even contacted Spotify for details about the new “Discover” feature, but unfortunately the company declined to provide information saying:
“At Spotify, we routinely conduct a series of tests in an effort to improve our user experience. Some of these tests end up paving the way for our broader user experience and others just serve as important learning. .”
As there is no forecast for the release of “Discover” on Spotify and the feature is still being tested, there is no certainty about anything. Unfortunately, we can’t even consider that this feature will actually reach the public, after all it’s still being tested.
