The Star Wars Andor series has not yet been released, we are already talking about its season 2… It should arrive on Disney + in a good time!

The first episode of star wars andor will be available from tomorrow on Disney +. We are already talking about a season 2but she should arrive in two years

A season 2 in 2024?

Star Wars creator Andor, Tony Girloywas interviewed by The Wrap. The showrunner, known for having scripted Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and directed Jason Bourne: Legacysuggested that a season 2 was already on the way. Asked about the rest of the series, he explains:

I still have two years of work ahead of me. We start shooting Part 2 of the series in November. (…) We are going to shoot from November to August. And then our last post-production was about a year.

If the filming ends in August 2023and that there is still a year of post-production, so we imagine that it will not won’t have to wait for Star Wars Andor Part 2 before summer 2024 on Disney+.

Wait while waiting for season 2

Before the second season of Star Wars Andor, you will have enough to wait. In fact, we are still waiting for Star Wars Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew series for 2023. We can also think of the series The Acolyte and Lando, which have no release years announced yet. Next year, you will also be able to take advantage of the season 3 of The Mandalorian, from February.

Tony Gilroy could stay after the series

In this interview, Tony Gilroy also talks about his role in the Star Wars Universe, and the possibility of seeing him working again on a film, as was the case on Rogue One. Indeed, the head of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy had suggested that Gilroy could become one of the ambassadors of the next series of Star Wars films, after the Andor series. He explained that he had not discussed it with Kennedy, because he wanted to focus on the series.

I never take a job in addition to another job. I always did one thing at a time and then changed, and I never started a business or had my name on a letterhead, or had a production contract or anything. This is where I spent the most time.

So it seems that Gilroy enjoys working for Star Wars. He also adds:

As odd as my involvement in the community may be, by the time my work on the series is finished, I’ll have had my hands on 26 hours of Star Wars content. I will have an important role by the time we finish. I’m going to stay a little while.

Gilroy did no plans to leave anytime soonand one can imagine that it will be working on a new Star Wars movie if offered. It remains to be seen whether it will be a new “A Star Wars Story”, or a film from the main series?
