A new study by scientists at University College London (UCL) found that staring into bright red light for three minutes in the morning offers significant improvements in eyesight. The experts conducted weekly analyzes and determined that this method could become a future treatment for treating eye diseases.

They used different intensities to vary the information from previous studies. Then they found the results that they themselves qualify as positive. First, they stressed that this is not a call for people to try it at home. They explain that it is not yet 100% proven and they must conduct more in-depth studies to certify that the method is effective in all people.

In this sense, they said that they were able to determine that exposing the eyeball to intense red light improves sight in the morning. In the cases that were done in the evening hours, it did not show any better in sight.

The scientists’ report determines that there were improvements of up to 17 percent. Progress was specifically recorded in color contrast vision. And the deep red light was exactly 670 nanometers.

Also, when they did these tests, the researchers found that a single exposure the improvement was sustained for a week. Of course, this type of therapy would benefit millions of people, since it would lower the costs of eye treatments that currently need lenses or laser surgery.
