Summer 2022 transfers: Brahimi signs with a new club

Yacine Brahimi officially leaves Al-Rayyan SC. He remains in the Qatari league since he made his move to Al-Gharafa official. He thus joins his compatriot Sofiane Hanni.

Free of all engagement, Yacine Brahimi officially left Al-Rayyan SC. The Algerian international leaves after spending three seasons at the club. A successful first stint in the Qatari league, with 56 official appearances and 25 goals.

The former FC Porto resident said goodbye to his now ex-club and his supporters. “I thank you for the three great seasons spent with you. I also thank you for the great support I have had from you since my first day at the club, the managers, coaches and players in particular. I had a great time that I will never forget,” he said via a post on his official Instagram account and added, “Al-Rayan will forever be in my heart.” I wish you good luck for the rest and many titles in the future”.

He joins Hanni in Al-Gharafa

After saying goodbye to the family of Al-Rayyan SC, Yacine Brahim formalized his coming to Al-Gharafa SC. Admittedly, he had touches with a few European clubs, but he decided to continue his career in Qatar. At 32, his choice was apparently made for purely financial reasons.

Brahimi therefore joins his compatriot and ex-teammate in the national team Sofiane Hanni. The latter has been playing in the Qatari league with Al-Gharafa since 2019.

After taking part in the last CAN in Cameroon, Yacine Brahim was not selected by Djamel Belmadi for the double confrontation of the play-offs against Cameroon last March as well as the last stage. But the native of Paris is still part of the extended list of the national coach.

It should also be remembered that the player took part in the FIFA Arab Nations Cup with the national team A’ last December in Qatar. He had greatly contributed to the consecration of the Greens, in particular his winning goal in the final against Tunisia. And for proof, he had been voted the best player of the competitionfollowed by Youcef Belaili.
