Sadio Mané will miss the World Cup for which he fought so hard to play with his Senegalese team. The news is hard not only for the country but for the region and the world of football.
At a press conference, the Senegalese Football Federation confirmed that its star and captain will not be able to play in the Qatar Cup due to the fibula injury he suffered while playing for Bayern Munich.
This Sunday, the 30-year-old striker left a message of thanks and encouragement for his teammates, ‘Los Leones’, on his social networks:
Good evening everyone, many of you have sent messages of support after my injury. Thank God the surgery I had in the middle of the week went well. I want to take this opportunity to thank you and show my appreciation to all of you. This Monday, our beloved country will compete in the World Cup, Qatar 2022. I am sure that the Lions will transcend and approach each game as a true finale. I am also convinced that all Senegalese will be in front of the small screen to support and encourage our brave national team. Like all the stalwarts at Taniere, I am convinced that my colleagues will fight as one man and as they are used to doing to honor our dear 🇸🇳 Vive le Senegal, Let’s go 🦁♥️💪🏾”
