Despite the complex economic moment, there are several representatives of the City of La Plata and also of the Region who ventured to the Middle East to encourage Lionel Scaloni and his followers.
Among them is the case of Tomás Labombarda, a young man from La Plata who with five more friends was able to fulfill the dream of being in Qatar and getting closer to the National Team, which will be debuting against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday from 7.
The resident of our city is 22 years old and is living an unforgettable experience: “We arrived on Saturday at 1 pm from Doha. We came from Dallas, and we took between three, four planes to be here”, said Tomás, who also indicated that he was a fan of Estudiantes.
“Yesterday I met many Estudiantes fans, I greeted them all. Always with the red and white on”, he told EL DIA through his WhatsApp, after the call of this newspaper for the La Plata people who traveled to Qatar to tell their experiences in the first person.
As revealed by the protagonist, he is studying Audiovisuals in Fine Arts and he already has a year left to graduate.
Regarding the impressive trip he is making, he said that “with the boys we have been planning it since February and March together with some friends from Mar del Plata.”
On the other hand, Labombarda confirmed that they all have tickets to witness the group phase of the team led by Lionel Scaloni, something that reassures them taking into account the different scams that the Argentines have suffered.
“We have for the match of Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland. We stayed until the game after the round of 16, for now that is the plan”, the young man who lives in the Barrio Hipódromo said excitedly.
Expressing his desire for the possibility of raising a new World Cup, he concluded: “I hope Argentina reaches the final. There are a lot of Argentines here and the locals sell Messi’s shirt like they can’t. We are very happy”, completed one of the many people from La Plata on Qatari soil.
Among other residents of the City, linked to both Gymnastics and Estudiantes, the presences of Ricardo Salomé, current candidate for Vice President of Lobo and Bernardo Barrué and Gustavo Feysulaj, both former leaders of Pincha, stand out.
The truth is that as the days go by, more people from La Plata will say they are present in Qatar, stories that this morning will later reflect.
