"The Lord of the Rings": the series of Amazon reveals visuals of its orcs

The series, highly anticipated by JRR Tolkien fans, will be released on September 2 on the Prime Video platform.

A few photos in the absence of a real trailer. The American media IGN unveiled this Tuesday new shots of the highly anticipated series The Rings of Power produced by Amazon. After showing the costumes, weapons, and faces of the heroes of the most expensive series in history, the Prime Video platform shared the first images of the orcs, the evil creatures of the universe created by JRR Tolkien.

If the production will not lack special effects, it is clear that the general appearance of the orcs, rather successful, is not unlike that of the films of Peter Jackson.

“We decided from the beginning that we would try to make a very realistic series”, explains the head of the prosthetics department Jamie Wilson at IGN, “that’s why we try to use real prosthetics and all that to minimize special effects”.

The hordes of orcs will however be much more disorganized than during the War of the Ring. Here the orcs will be in the minority and more scattered, which does not make them less threatening.

Series The Rings of Power, scheduled for September 2 on the Prime Video platform, takes place before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It will focus in particular on the genesis and forging of the rings of power, the rise of Sauron, the lord of darkness, but also on the last alliance between Elves and Men.
