The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) documented serious violations of human rights due to arbitrary detention, sexual assault and personal integrity due to acts of torture against two people, which were committed by elements of the National Guard in March of this year.

The victim revealed that she was tortured by members of the GN who kept her kneeling while they hit her in the stomach with their fists; all of her carried long weapons, which they used to aim at them while they beat her legs with a board and threatened to sexually assault her again.

For their part, the elements of the National Guard who participated in the operations systematically lied by denying having been in the places indicated by the victims or having participated in the denounced behaviors.

But videos and official reports place them in the places and the expert reports carried out by the CNDH point out that the testimonies agree in sequence and logic.

The CNDH described the events as serious violations of human rights. and determined measures of satisfaction, reparation, non-repetition, compensation, rehabilitation and non-repetition in favor of the victims.

For their part, both victims met outside the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico, when they went to report the crimes, although they were not attended to. However, when they shared their testimonies and videos, they realized that they were victims of the same National Guard patrol.
