A pro-Russian collective claimed responsibility for the attack on several websites of Italian institutions, including that of the Ministry of Defence.
Several Italian institutional websites, including that of the Ministry of Defense and the Senate, were targeted by a computer attack from a group of pro-Russian hackers, the media of the peninsula said on Wednesday evening.
The Ministry of Defense site indicated that it was “under maintenance”, while that of the Senate was inaccessible.
Other institutions attacked
“The attack, claimed by the pro-Russian collective Killnet would not have compromised the infrastructure for the moment, according to our information, but would complicate access to various sites”, writes in its online edition the daily Corriere della Sera.
Several other institutions or companies were also attacked, including the Higher Institute of Health (ISS).
According to the AGI agency, the pirates also tried to attack, without success, the Eurovision site. Lazio, the region of Rome, had suffered a vast attack last August, the main consequence of which was the cessation of reservations for the anti-Covid vaccine.
