Aston Martin is renewing its model range. After the Gran Turismo DB11, which was introduced at the beginning of 2017, the British bring the convertible version Volante onto the market at the beginning of 2018. In contrast to the Coupé, the four-seater with a soft top will not be available with a V12 engine, but only in a V8 variant. This comes from cooperation partner Mercedes-AMG and provides 375 kW / 510 PS. The price for the DB11 Volante is 199,000 euros.

Audi is further expanding its range of SUVs and in 2018 will be launching the next – and largest – in coupé form, the Q8. Incidentally, it shares the platform and top engine with the new Lamborghini Urus, which will also be launched next year. The Q8 should come up with the latest technologies in assistance and infotainment systems and should also set standards in terms of the appearance of materials in the interior.

3. Bentley Continental GT

After around 14 years, Bentley is retiring the Continental GT and is finally bringing the second generation onto the market. The Englishman presented at the IAA uses the floor pan of the Porsche Panamera with new steering and double clutch instead of automatic. There is also a chassis with three-chamber air suspension and 48-volt actuators, which adapt to the driving situation even faster and stabilize the colossus better. And above all, there is a further developed twelve-cylinder, which now generates 467 kW / 635 hp and a torque of 900 Nm from six liters of displacement.

4. BMW 8 Series and M8

With the large coupé, which will replace the 6-series, BMW wants to attack the luxury candidates from Mercedes (S-Class Coupé) and Co. As the crowning glory for the 8-series, the Munich-based company is planning an M8, which will also serve as the basis for a Le Mans racing car. A performance range of around 257 KW / 350 PS up to 478 kW / 650 PS in the top model M8 would be conceivable for the series vehicle.

5. BMW X7

At the IAA in September 2017, BMW already showed a study of the new SUV flagship X7 that looked relatively close to series production. Particularly noticeable: the gigantic kidney on the front. The large “SAV” (BMW speaks of a Sports “Activity” vehicle) accommodates six people in three rows of seats. The front four seats are designed as individual seats, which offer a lot of space. Information on engines (probably from the 7 series) and prices (probably quite high) are not yet available.

The Ferrari Portofino will replace the aging California T in the Italian portfolio. Under the hood sits a further developed version of the 3.9-liter V8 turbo engine, which now has an output of 441 kW / 600 PS (29 kW / 40 PS more than so far) and brings the Portofino from zero to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds. The top speed is over 320 km / h. The metal folding roof convertible also gets a new electric power steering and a better infotainment system with a 10.2 inch display. Occupants should also benefit from the new air conditioning.

One year after the presentation of the closed Huracán Performante, Lamborghini is likely to present the Spyder version of the former Nürburgring record holder at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018. The power (470 kW / 640 PS) of the naturally aspirated V10 should remain unchanged. The sound experience with the top down is probably much better. The price will probably be above the 232,000 euros set for the coupé.

8. Lamborghini Urus

A biturbo V8 with a displacement of four liters, 478 kW / 650 PS and 850 Newton meters of torque: these are the performance data of the first Lamborghini SUV since the LM002. The Urus will hit the market in the summer of 2018 and will shock the competition within the class with an acceleration from zero to 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 305 km / h. The base price: 204,000 euros, just under 3,000 euros over a Lamborghini Huracán. There is space for five passengers in the interior of the 2.2-ton, 5.11-meter-long Italian.

The McLaren Senna is the most extreme road vehicle that has ever rolled out of the factory in Woking, England. The basis is the 720S, which the engineers have trimmed for racing cars using sweeping aero parts such as a gigantic hydraulic spoiler, a sweeping splitter and a double diffuser. Behind the passenger cell sits the well-known four-liter V8 with double charging, which in the “Senna” cracks the 588 kW / 800 PS mark for the first time. The torque is 800 Newton meters. The curb weight drops to just 1,198 kilograms. The new McLaren Senna is slated to hit the streets in the third quarter of 2018. All 500 copies have already been sold, the unit price was 922,000 euros.

Together with the CLS, the AMG, known internally as the GT4, will celebrate its premiere in 2018, which the Stuttgart-based company has already presented as the “GT Concept” study. Inside there is a mix of E-Class and AMG GT, on the outside the GT4, whose name is likely to change, is aimed at the Porsche Panamera. Its pioneering position in the faster four-door segment with a lot of luxury is likely to be in serious danger. On the engine side, a V8 biturbo from the AMG forge can be expected, which should produce at least 375 kW / 510 PS. Cost point? Not less than 150,000 euros.
