Chilpancingo.- Two days after 300 agents of the National Guard (GN) arrived to reinforce security, armed men attacked the Community Police headquarters with fragmentation grenades launched from drones, in the community of Buenavista de la Salud.
This town is located 30 minutes away from this state capital.
Through a statement, the Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the alleged fragmentation grenades would have been thrown from a rock towards the self-defense base on Thursday morning.
He indicated that the Ministerial Investigative Police and the Mexican Army, in addition to the National Guard, arrived at the scene and residents told them they had heard the detonation and observed a cloud of dust.
No injuries were reported as a result of these incidents.
The Prosecutor’s Office affirmed that the aggressors belong to the criminal group “Los Ardillos”.
Versions of inhabitants of this municipality revealed that they realized that the grenades that exploded near the headquarters were launched by drones.
The Buenavista de la Salud self-defense groups belong to the Union of Peoples and Organizations of the State of Guerrero (UPOEG).
There are already four times that the command of this armed organization has been attacked by presumed members of Los Ardillos so far this year.
On January 28, in an attack against this command there was a balance of six people killed, among whom was the leader of this group, Professor Mario Zamora Maldonado.
Since this Tuesday, the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) sent 300 National Guard agents to this municipality of Chilpancingo to contain the wave of violence that has led to murders, kidnappings and burning of public transport units.
