They repatriate 138 thousand Mexicans from the US in six months

Mexico City.- In the last six months, 138,083 Mexicans were repatriated to our country, mainly from the United States, reported the National Migration Institute (INM).

In a statement, the body of the Ministry of the Interior indicated that this figure is 14 percent higher than that registered in the same period last year, which totaled 120,610.

“(There are) 17 thousand 473 Mexican people more than the number registered in the same period of 2021,” he specified.

Of the total number of nationals repatriated to Mexico, detailed the INM, 124 thousand 811 are adults and 13 thousand 272 minors.

Regarding adult nationals, 16,316 are women and 108,495 men, and in the case of children, 1,883 are girls and 11,389 boys.

“The number of unaccompanied minors (10,550) is almost four times more than that of those who were with an adult (2,722), a trend very similar to the same period in 2021,” he added.

Regarding repatriation points, in Baja California 69 thousand 522 were received; in the Sonora garitas 31 thousand 360; in Tamaulipas, 18 thousand 95; in Coahuila 10 thousand 312; in Chihuahua 7 thousand 30; in Jalisco, 1,076; and in Mexico City 688.

“The INM endorses its commitment to provide care and assistance to Mexicans returned from the United States and Canada, through the Repatriation program, in order to support their reintegration into the social and economic life of the country, in a safe and orderly manner” , he added.
