Mexico has received 9 million doses of the CanSino vaccine that only requires one dose per vaccinated person and that was applied mainly to teachers and administrative personnel of schools.
4 million doses of the Sputnik vaccine were also applied, which requires two doses to complete the scheme and which was mostly applied among young people between 18 and 30 years of age in urban areas, such as the Valley of Mexico.
The United States Government would open its borders to those vaccinated with the full schedule of vaccines authorized by the WHO as of the first day of November.
If so, Mexicans vaccinated with vaccines against Covid-19 from Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm and Sinovac will be able to enter the neighboring country without problems, but it would not be the case of those immunized with Sputnik and CanSino, which still Awaiting authorization from the WHO.
According to US government officials, foreigners entering that country by land must have proof of complete vaccination against Covid-19.
Based on these measures, the United States Government will no longer request a non-infection test.
In the morning, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador launched a call to the WHO to act with adherence to science and to approve as soon as possible, without political or ideological overtones, all vaccines against Covid-19.
Referring to biologics such as CanSino, from China, and Sputnik, from Russia, he stressed that all vaccines have proven their effectiveness, so there is no scientific basis to prevent or delay their authorization.
