Tomonobu Itagaki is back: Ninja Gaiden creator is working on a new game

For several years now, gamers have been wondering what happened to Tomonobu Itagaki, game designer famous for giving life to the series of Dead or Alive and to moderns Ninja Gaiden when it was still part of Team Ninja under a Tecmo.

After the controversial farewell to his old software house, Itagaki has founded his own studio, Valhalla Games Studiosbut the new adventure did not turn out to be very lucky: his team has in fact made only one relevant title, Devil’s Thirdpublished in 2015 on Wii U but without obtaining particular success in terms of critics and audiences. After a little tempting Online version of the same game released on PC (and Devil’s Third Online servers were shut down in 2017, barely a year after opening), and having made a Momotaru Densetsu for the Japanese market, Valhalla Games Studios ended up in the background, closing its doors at the end of 2021.

However, this does not seem to have stopped Itagaki at all who, after a long silence, returned to the scene on social networks announcing not only the opening of a new Twitter account, but also the imminent arrival of news on his next job. “I recently created a Twitter account in which I will publish the latest news about the videogame project I’m working on“, announces the designer, without however revealing more details about the nature of the work he is doing with his new team Itagaki Games and, possibly, with whom.

All that remains is to wait for updates from Itagaki, so as to understand what game it is and for which platforms it is in development.
