Until now, the village of Castelnau-Magnoac (Hautes-Pyrénées) had seen the riders of the Tour de France pass. But for the first time, in 2022, they will make a stopover. It will be July 22, and the news is already delighting residents. “We’re going to see the riders, I like sport, I like cycling, so I’m going to take a closer look at what is going on with this Tour de France”, confides a passer-by.
The traders are also delighted. “It’s interesting for everyone, it will make a show”, says one of them. The runners will set off on one of the village squares. For the occasion, the roadway and shop windows will undergo a facelift. The mayor (LREM), Bernard Verdier, even plans to take out his checkbook. “We will say between 20 and 30,000 euros, indicates the elected. It is a great opportunity to communicate.” The next day, the Tour riders will stay in Occitanie, with a pilgrimage to Rocamadour (Lot).
